Renee D Henderson
I was born and raised in Wenatchee, WA. I have a wonderful family (yeah, I mean it too), with two older sisters, loving parents (who just recently celebrated 35 years), and an old dog named Chance.
Music has been a big part of our family from day one. Mom used to say "If they didn't cry on pitch when they came out, they sent 'em back." So, invariably, we're all singers and instrumental musicians. Dad plays guitar, the rest of us play piano, and I took up cello in the sixth grade just "to be different." ;)
My love of composing music started at a pretty young age, but didn't really take off until I was a Junior in High School. Whenver I would play, I kept getting the same encouragement to get it written down or recorded. And thinking that recording would be the easier of the two, I headed down that road. Hahaha... boy was I naive! The recording process was difficult, but rewarding too. I hosted a few concerts and had people pre-order a CD to raise money for the recording. Finally I recorded my master CD at a place called "Paradise Sound" in Index, WA. Those were some of the most challenging and memorable days of my life.
Since then I went off to college and majored in (you're thinking Music right?) - Nope! I majored in Computer Science. At first I was going to double major in CS and Music, but I quickly learned that majoring in music would be one of the quickest ways for me to stop enjoying it. My music has always been a release for me, and I decided then that if I had to rely on music as my sole source of income, it would cease to be something that brought me joy. So, I went down the road of computers and programming because I enjoyed programming AND could make a decent living off of it.
Now I program during the day, and since I work from home, I often take several "breaks" to write music and practice songs I'm working on. I couldn't be happier! I am working on a whole new set of songs for my second CD - so don't miss out!! If you like my music, please sign my guestbook so I can let you know when my next CD is finished!
